History
The Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria (CISN) is a tertiary institution established in 1989. It offers commercial, technical, and management studies in shipping, maritime-transport, and logistics. The institute aims to establish a niche in maritime education for practitioners worldwide. In 2009, the Federal Ministry of Education approved the establishment of Vacational Enterprise Institutions and Innovation Enterprise Institutions. The National Innovation Diploma (NID) of the institute is accredited by The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)
